Safety & Authenticity

How Couplify protects you

Dating takes trust. You are sharing real parts of yourself with people you have never met, and that only works if you know the person on the other side of the screen is who they say they are. We built Couplify around that idea. Every feature, every rule, every decision comes back to the same question: does this make our members safer?

Here is how we do it.

Everyone Is Verified

Every Couplify member completes identity verification before they can use the app. No exceptions. You submit a valid government-issued photo ID and take a real-time selfie. We compare the two. If they do not match, you do not get in.

This is not optional and it is not something you can skip. It applies to every single person on the platform, including the person reading this right now. The result is a community where everyone has proven they are a real person with a real identity.

Everyone Pays

There is no free tier on Couplify. Every member is a paying subscriber. This is intentional. When people invest in something, they take it seriously. Paid membership filters out the people who are not actually looking for a relationship and the people who create throwaway accounts to harass others. It raises the bar for everyone.

Connections Are Intentional

You cannot just message someone on Couplify. Our Intentional Connection Flow requires multiple steps before a conversation opens: mutual interest, a question exchange, and a confirmed connection. Both people have to want to talk before either one can. This protects you from unwanted contact and makes every conversation something both people chose.

If someone makes you uncomfortable at any point, you can block them immediately. Blocking is instant, does not require approval, and the other person is not told why. You are always in control of who can reach you.

What We Do Not Tolerate

Our rules are simple and we enforce them. Harassment, threats, hate speech, scams, fake profiles, and impersonation result in account action up to permanent removal. Any content involving minors is reported to law enforcement immediately and without exception.

If someone shares intimate images without consent, we remove them and act on the account. We comply with the TAKE IT DOWN Act and process removal requests within 48 hours.

We do not give warnings for serious violations. We act.

Reporting

If something feels wrong, report it. You can report any profile or message directly in the app, or email us at safety@couplify.com. We review every report. Urgent safety reports, including threats, harassment, and exploitation, are prioritized and handled first.

We will never penalize you for reporting in good faith. If you think something is off, say something.

Meeting In Person

When you are ready to meet someone from Couplify in person, a few things worth remembering:

  • Meet in a public place for the first few dates.
  • Tell a friend or family member where you are going and who you are meeting.
  • Drive yourself or use your own transportation so you can leave when you want to.
  • Trust your instincts. If something feels off, it probably is. You do not owe anyone an explanation for leaving.
  • Do not share your home address, workplace, or financial information early on.
  • Video chat before meeting if it would make you feel more comfortable.

Verification reduces risk, but it does not eliminate it. No app can guarantee the character of another person. Stay alert and take care of yourself.
