1. INTRODUCTION AND RELATIONSHIP TO TERMS OF USE

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP" or "Policy") supplements and is incorporated by reference into the Couplify Terms of Use ("Terms"). Capitalized terms not defined in this Policy have the meanings given in the Terms. If any provision of this AUP conflicts with the Terms, the more restrictive provision controls with respect to user conduct and content standards.

Couplify LLC ("Couplify," "we," "us," or "our") operates a dating and social connection platform available through the Couplify mobile application (iOS and Android) and the website located at couplify.com (collectively, the "Service" or "Platform"). Every user of the Service is an identity-verified, paying subscriber who has agreed to abide by these standards.

This AUP exists to make Couplify's content and conduct standards, enforcement procedures, reporting mechanisms, and appeal rights accessible in a single document. It covers three areas that require standalone treatment: (1) child sexual abuse material prohibition and enforcement, (2) non-consensual intimate imagery and related protections, and (3) the reporting and appeals process for all policy violations.

The prohibited conduct described in Section 9 of the Terms of Use remains in full force. This AUP provides additional specificity, detection and enforcement details, and procedural rights that supplement those provisions.

2. DEFINITIONS

For purposes of this Policy, the following terms have the meanings set forth below.

"CSAM" means child sexual abuse material, defined as any visual depiction, including any photograph, film, video, image, or computer-generated image or picture, whether made or produced by electronic, mechanical, or other means, of sexually explicit conduct involving a minor. This definition aligns with 18 U.S.C. 2256.

"Minor" means any individual under the age of eighteen (18).

"NCII" means non-consensual intimate imagery, sometimes referred to as "revenge porn" or "image-based sexual abuse." NCII includes any intimate visual depiction of an identifiable individual that is created, distributed, or displayed without that individual's consent. This includes both authentic imagery and AI-generated or digitally altered depictions (sometimes called "deepfakes") of an identifiable individual in intimate or sexually explicit scenarios.

"Doxxing" means the act of publicly revealing, publishing, or distributing another person's private, personally identifying information (such as home address, phone number, workplace, financial information, or government identification numbers) without that person's consent, with the intent to harass, threaten, intimidate, or facilitate harassment of that person.

"Sextortion" means any attempt to coerce, threaten, or blackmail another person by threatening to distribute or publish intimate images, sexual content, or private sexual information about that person unless the person complies with demands, whether those demands are financial, sexual, or otherwise.

"Blocking" means the platform function through which a user prevents another user from viewing their profile, sending them messages, seeing them in search results or match suggestions, viewing their Community Group posts, or interacting with them through any feature of the Service.

"NCMEC" means the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a congressionally designated clearinghouse for reports of child exploitation maintained under 18 U.S.C. 2258A.

"CyberTipline" means the online reporting system operated by NCMEC for receiving reports of apparent child sexual exploitation, including CSAM, from electronic service providers and the public.

"ICAC" means Internet Crimes Against Children, a national network of coordinated task forces representing federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies engaged in investigations, forensic examinations, and prosecutions related to technology-facilitated child exploitation.

3. GENERAL ACCEPTABLE USE STANDARDS

All users must comply with the conduct standards set forth in Section 9 of the Terms of Use, which prohibits fraud and misrepresentation, harassment and harmful conduct, illegal activity, spam and commercial activity, platform integrity violations, inappropriate content, contact information and off-platform solicitation, unauthorized sharing of member content, misuse of reports or safety tools, and circumvention of safeguards.

This AUP supplements those prohibitions with the specific provisions below. A violation of any provision of this AUP constitutes a violation of the Terms of Use and may result in enforcement action up to and including permanent account termination and law enforcement referral.

4. CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE MATERIAL: ZERO-TOLERANCE POLICY AND ENFORCEMENT

4.1 Zero-Tolerance Statement

Couplify maintains an absolute zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse material. Any CSAM uploaded, transmitted, shared, stored, solicited, or distributed through the Service will result in immediate and permanent account termination, a permanent ban from all current and future Couplify services, referral to law enforcement, and forfeiture of any refund.

This prohibition extends to all content, whether in profiles, messages, Community Groups, or any other area of the Service. There are no warnings, second chances, or graduated responses for CSAM. The prohibition applies equally to content that depicts, describes, solicits, promotes, or facilitates the sexual exploitation of minors in any form.

4.2 Content Depicting or Involving Minors

As stated in Section 9.2.6 of the Terms of Use, users shall not post content involving minors or content that sexualizes minors in any way. This includes, without limitation:

  • Visual depictions of minors in sexually explicit or suggestive contexts
  • Solicitation, enticement, or grooming of minors for sexual purposes
  • Text, audio, or any other content that sexualizes minors
  • AI-generated, digitally altered, or computer-generated imagery depicting minors in sexually explicit or suggestive contexts
  • Links to external sites containing CSAM or child exploitation material
  • Content that promotes, normalizes, or advocates for sexual contact with minors

4.3 Age Verification and Minor Protection Infrastructure

Couplify requires all users to be at least eighteen (18) years of age and to complete identity verification using a valid government-issued photo identification document confirming their date of birth. Any account determined to belong to a minor will be terminated, and associated data will be deleted subject to legally permitted retention for safety, legal compliance, or enforcement purposes. Users who are registered or required to register as sex offenders are permanently barred from the Service.

4.4 Mandatory Reporting to NCMEC

As an electronic service provider, Couplify is required under federal law (18 U.S.C. 2258A) to report apparent violations involving CSAM to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) through the CyberTipline. Couplify complies with this obligation. When Couplify becomes aware of apparent CSAM on the Service, whether through automated detection, user reports, or internal review, Couplify will file a CyberTipline report with NCMEC containing all information required under 18 U.S.C. 2258A.

Couplify does not notify the user whose account is associated with the report. The user's account is terminated immediately and permanently.

4.5 Evidence Preservation

Federal law (18 U.S.C. 2258A) requires electronic service providers to preserve evidence related to reported CSAM. When Couplify files a CyberTipline report with NCMEC or receives a preservation request from law enforcement, Couplify will preserve all content, metadata, communications, IP addresses, account information, and any other relevant evidence associated with the account and the reported material for the period required by law (not less than 90 days, or longer if requested by law enforcement or required by applicable law). Couplify will not destroy, alter, or modify preserved evidence.

4.6 Law Enforcement Cooperation

Couplify cooperates fully with law enforcement agencies investigating child exploitation, including federal agencies, state and local law enforcement, and ICAC task forces. Cooperation may include responding to valid legal process (subpoenas, court orders, search warrants), providing preserved evidence, providing technical assistance as legally required, and participating in coordinated investigations.

4.7 User Reporting of Suspected CSAM

If you encounter content on the Service that you believe constitutes CSAM or involves the sexual exploitation of a minor, report it immediately through one of the following dedicated pathways:

  • In-app: Use the in-app reporting feature and select the category for child exploitation or CSAM.
  • Email: Send a report to safety@couplify.com with the subject line "CSAM Report." Include as much detail as possible, including the username or profile of the account involved, a description of the content, and the date and time you observed it.
  • NCMEC CyberTipline: You may also report directly to NCMEC at CyberTipline.org or by calling 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678).

CSAM reports are handled as the highest priority. Couplify will review these reports on an expedited basis and will not wait for normal moderation queue processing.

Do not screenshot, download, save, or redistribute suspected CSAM. Doing so may itself constitute a federal crime. Report it and allow Couplify and law enforcement to handle the material.

4.8 Consequences

Any account associated with CSAM will be subject to immediate and permanent termination with no prior notice, a permanent ban from all Couplify services, referral to NCMEC and law enforcement, preservation of all account data and evidence for law enforcement, and forfeiture of any paid subscription fees without refund.

These consequences are not subject to the graduated enforcement process described in Section 7 of this AUP. There is no appeal of a CSAM-related termination.

5. NON-CONSENSUAL INTIMATE IMAGERY AND RELATED PROTECTIONS

5.1 NCII Prohibition

Couplify prohibits the distribution, publication, or transmission of non-consensual intimate imagery through the Service. This prohibition applies to intimate images or videos of any person shared without that person's affirmative consent, AI-generated or digitally altered intimate depictions (deepfakes) of any identifiable person created or shared without that person's consent, and any intimate imagery originally shared in confidence that is subsequently distributed beyond the scope of the original consent.

This provision supplements Section 9.2.6 (Inappropriate Content) and Section 9.2.8 (Unauthorized Sharing of Member Content) of the Terms of Use and provides specific protections aligned with the TAKE IT DOWN Act (Pub. L. 119-12, signed May 19, 2025) and applicable state NCII laws.

5.2 TAKE IT DOWN Act Compliance

Consistent with the TAKE IT DOWN Act, Couplify maintains a process through which an individual depicted in non-consensual intimate imagery, or that individual's authorized representative, may request removal of such imagery from the Service. Upon receiving a valid removal request, Couplify will remove or disable access to the identified content within forty-eight (48) hours, make reasonable efforts to prevent the same content from being re-uploaded, and notify the individual who submitted the request that the content has been removed or that additional information is needed.

Couplify will not be liable to the poster of content that is removed in good faith pursuant to a valid NCII takedown request.

5.3 NCII Takedown Request Process

If you are depicted in intimate imagery that has been shared on the Service without your consent, or if you are the authorized representative of such an individual, you may submit a takedown request through the following process:

13. Submit a request. Email safety@couplify.com with the subject line "NCII Takedown Request." Your request should include your name and contact information (or the name and contact information of the individual you represent, along with documentation of your authorization), a description of the content and its location on the Service (including the username or profile where it appears, if known), a statement that the intimate imagery was shared without the depicted individual's consent, and a statement made under penalty of perjury that the information in the request is accurate.

14. Review and action. Couplify will acknowledge receipt of the request within twenty-four (24) hours. Couplify will remove or disable access to the content within forty-eight (48) hours of receiving a complete and valid request. If additional information is needed to locate or verify the content, Couplify will notify you within the acknowledgment period.

15. Notification. After removal, Couplify will confirm to you that the content has been removed.

Victims of NCII may also contact the Cyber Civil Rights Initiative at cybercivilrights.org for support resources.

5.4 Sextortion Prohibition

Couplify prohibits sextortion in any form. Any attempt to coerce, threaten, or blackmail another user by threatening to share, publish, or distribute intimate images, sexual content, or private sexual information is a serious violation of this Policy and may constitute a criminal offense. Sextortion reports are treated as urgent safety matters and are processed on an expedited basis.

5.5 Anti-Doxxing

No user may publish, share, broadcast, or distribute another user's private, personally identifying information without that person's express consent. This prohibition applies to the Service and to conduct connected to the Service (for example, publishing a Couplify user's private information on external websites or social media platforms as a result of interactions on the Service).

Prohibited doxxing includes, without limitation, sharing another user's home address, workplace, phone number, government identification number, financial account information, or other private personal data with intent to harass, threaten, or intimidate. This provision supplements the prohibition in Section 9.2.2 of the Terms of Use against publishing "any other user's private or personal information without their consent."

5.6 Consent Requirements for Content Depicting Others

As stated in Section 10.8 of the Terms of Use, users must have all rights and consents necessary for any other person appearing in their User Content. This requirement extends to photographs, videos, and audio recordings. Users must obtain the depicted individual's consent before uploading content in which another identifiable person appears. If Couplify receives a report or complaint from an individual depicted in a user's content alleging lack of consent, Couplify may remove the content and take enforcement action against the uploading user.

5.7 Blocking Functionality

Couplify provides a blocking function that allows any user to block another user at any time for any reason. When you block another user, the blocked user will no longer be able to view your profile, send you messages, see you in search results or match suggestions, view or interact with your posts in Community Groups, or interact with you through any feature of the Service.

Blocking is immediate and does not require Couplify review or approval. Couplify does not notify the blocked user of the reason for the block. You may unblock a user at any time through your account settings.

Couplify's Intentional Connection Flow, which requires mutual interest and a question exchange before messaging is unlocked, provides an additional structural layer of protection against unwanted contact.

6. REPORTING VIOLATIONS

6.1 How to Report

Couplify provides the following channels for reporting violations of this AUP and the Terms of Use:

  • In-app reporting: Use the report function available on user profiles, in messages, and in Community Groups.
  • Email: Send reports to support@couplify.com.
  • CSAM-specific reports: Follow the dedicated process in Section 4.7 of this AUP.
  • NCII takedown requests: Follow the dedicated process in Section 5.3 of this AUP.

6.2 Tiered Reporting and Prioritization

Couplify categorizes reports into two tiers based on the severity and urgency of the reported conduct.

Tier 1: Urgent Safety Reports. The following report types are treated as urgent and are processed on an expedited basis:

  • CSAM or suspected child exploitation
  • Threats of imminent violence or physical harm
  • Sextortion
  • Active harassment or stalking posing an immediate safety risk
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery
  • Human trafficking or sexual exploitation

Couplify will acknowledge Tier 1 reports within twenty-four (24) hours of receipt and will take initial action (which may include content removal, account restriction, or referral to law enforcement) as soon as practicable, with a target resolution within seventy-two (72) hours.

Tier 2: Standard Reports. All other reports, including spam, minor guideline violations, profile misrepresentation, commercial solicitation, and similar conduct, are classified as standard. Couplify will acknowledge Tier 2 reports within forty-eight (48) hours and will complete its review within ten (10) business days.

The timelines above are targets. Complex investigations, law enforcement coordination, or high report volume may require additional time. If Couplify cannot meet these timelines, it will provide an update to the reporting user where contact information is available.

6.3 Reporter Notification

Couplify will notify the reporting user that Couplify has received the report and that action has been taken or that the report has been closed after review. Consistent with Section 9.4.1 of the Terms of Use, Couplify is not required to disclose the specific details of any investigation, the nature of the enforcement action taken, or the status of the reported user's account.

6.4 False Reports

Submitting knowingly false, abusive, retaliatory, or misleading reports is a violation of Section 9.2.9 of the Terms of Use and this AUP. Users who abuse the reporting system may themselves be subject to enforcement action.

7. ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS AND GRADUATED RESPONSE

7.1 Enforcement Discretion

Couplify retains sole discretion to determine the appropriate enforcement action for any violation of this AUP or the Terms of Use. The graduated response framework below describes the range of available actions and Couplify's general approach. Couplify is not required to follow the steps in order and may skip to more severe action when the nature of the violation warrants it.

7.2 Graduated Enforcement Ladder

Couplify may take one or more of the following enforcement actions in response to a policy violation, depending on the severity, frequency, and context of the conduct.

Level 1: Warning. Couplify issues a written notice to the user identifying the violation and the specific provision of this AUP or the Terms that was violated. The user's account remains active. The warning is recorded in the user's enforcement history.

Level 2: Content Removal. Couplify removes the offending content from the Service and notifies the user of the removal and the applicable policy provision. The user's account remains active.

Level 3: Temporary Restriction. Couplify restricts one or more account functions for a defined period. Restrictions may include messaging limitations, Community Group posting restrictions, or temporary removal from search results and match suggestions. The user is notified of the restriction, its duration, and the reason.

Level 4: Account Suspension. Couplify suspends the user's account for a defined period, during which the user cannot access the Service. The user is notified of the suspension, its duration, and the reason.

Level 5: Account Termination. Couplify permanently terminates the user's account. Consistent with Section 5.5 of the Terms of Use, no refund is issued for termination due to a violation. The user is notified of the termination and the reason.

Level 6: Permanent Ban. Couplify permanently bans the user from all current and future Couplify services. Consistent with Section 15.3 of the Terms of Use, attempts to create new accounts after a ban result in immediate termination. A permanent ban may be accompanied by data retention for ban-enforcement purposes as described in the Terms and Privacy Policy.

Level 7: Law Enforcement Referral. Couplify reports the user's conduct to applicable law enforcement agencies. This action may accompany any other level of enforcement and is mandatory for CSAM.

7.3 Factors in Determining Enforcement Level

In determining the appropriate enforcement action, Couplify considers the severity of the violation, the risk of harm to other users, whether the conduct was a first offense or part of a pattern, whether the user acted with apparent intent, the user's enforcement history, and whether the violation involved vulnerable individuals, minors, or criminal conduct.

7.4 CSAM Exception

The graduated enforcement framework does not apply to CSAM. As described in Section 4.9, any CSAM-related violation results in immediate and permanent termination, permanent ban, and law enforcement referral. There are no intermediate steps and no appeal.

8. APPEALS PROCESS

8.1 Right to Appeal

Any user who receives an enforcement action under Levels 2 through 6 of the graduated enforcement ladder (content removal, temporary restriction, account suspension, account termination, or permanent ban) may submit an appeal, except that this right does not apply to actions taken for CSAM violations under Section 4 of this AUP.

8.2 How to Submit an Appeal

To submit an appeal, email support@couplify.com with the subject line "Enforcement Appeal." Your appeal must include your name and the email address associated with your Couplify account, the date of the enforcement action, a description of the enforcement action you are appealing, and the reason you believe the action was taken in error or was disproportionate.

Appeals must be submitted within thirty (30) calendar days of the date the user was notified of the enforcement action. Appeals submitted after this period will not be reviewed.

8.3 Review Process

Couplify will acknowledge receipt of the appeal within forty-eight (48) hours. A reviewer who was not involved in the original enforcement decision will examine the appeal. The reviewer will consider the user's submission, the original report, the content or conduct at issue, and all relevant context.

8.4 Timeline

Couplify will issue a written decision on the appeal within fifteen (15) business days of receipt. If additional time is needed due to the complexity of the matter, Couplify will notify the user of the delay and provide an estimated decision date.

8.5 Possible Outcomes

The reviewer may uphold the original enforcement action, modify the enforcement action (for example, reducing a suspension to a warning), or reverse the enforcement action and restore the user's account or content.

The reviewer's decision is final with respect to Couplify's internal process. A user who disagrees with the outcome retains the right to pursue the dispute resolution process described in Section 16 of the Terms of Use, including the informal resolution period and binding arbitration.

8.6 Account Status During Appeal

For content removals and temporary restrictions, the enforcement action remains in effect during the appeal unless the reviewer determines that interim relief is warranted. For account suspensions and terminations, the account remains suspended or terminated during the appeal. If the appeal is successful, access will be restored and, where applicable, the user will receive a credit for the subscription period lost during the suspension.

9. DUE PROCESS PROTECTIONS

9.1 Notice

Before Couplify takes permanent enforcement action (account termination or permanent ban), Couplify will provide the user with written notice identifying the specific policy provision violated and a summary of the conduct or content that gave rise to the enforcement action, except in the following circumstances:

  • CSAM violations. Accounts are terminated immediately without prior notice.
  • Imminent safety threats. Where Couplify reasonably determines that advance notice would create an immediate risk of harm to another user or to the public, Couplify may act first and provide notice afterward.
  • Legal restrictions. Where law enforcement requests that Couplify not notify the user, or where notification would compromise an ongoing investigation, Couplify may delay or omit notice.

9.2 Opportunity to Respond

For enforcement actions at Levels 4 and above (suspension, termination, and permanent ban) that do not fall within the exceptions in Section 9.1, Couplify will, where feasible, provide the user with an opportunity to respond before the action becomes final. The opportunity to respond consists of a written notice describing the alleged violation and a period of at least seventy-two (72) hours for the user to submit a written response.

Couplify will consider the user's response before issuing a final decision. If the user does not respond within the allotted period, Couplify will proceed with the enforcement action.

This opportunity to respond does not apply to CSAM violations, imminent safety threats, or circumstances where law enforcement has requested that Couplify refrain from contacting the user.

9.3 Non-Waiver of Rights

Nothing in this AUP limits the user's rights under the Terms of Use, including the right to opt out of arbitration under Section 16.6, the sexual assault and harassment exception under Section 16.5, the small claims exception under Section 16.4, or any rights provided by applicable law.

10. COOPERATION WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT

Couplify cooperates with law enforcement agencies as required by law and as described in Section 9.5 of the Terms of Use. Couplify may preserve, disclose, and share user information in response to valid legal process, including subpoenas, court orders, and search warrants, to comply with mandatory reporting obligations (including CSAM reports to NCMEC), where Couplify reasonably believes disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent harm to any person, and in connection with investigations of conduct that Couplify believes may constitute a criminal offense.

11. MODIFICATIONS TO THIS POLICY

Couplify reserves the right to modify this AUP at any time. If Couplify makes material changes, it will notify users by email, in-app notification, or by posting the updated AUP with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of modifications constitutes acceptance of the modified AUP.
